Recently we viewed a VHS that a client wanted transferred.
The tape was 12 years old and unfortunately had deteriorated
considerably. We were able to transfer the tape to DVD
but time had taken its toll.
Another client wanted his home movies on 8mm film transferred
to DVD. The film was in pretty good shape as it was stored
properly, but they had used a bad 8mm film projector and
parts of the film had burned in the process of viewing
it. We were able to salvage the film and cut out the burned
frames. It looked like new after it was transferred to
DVD and now our client can see his films on TV.
Hollywood has been under the gun for many years to rescue
film archives from their dreaded demise. Recently older
films have been discovered only to disintegrate when opened.
Some get saved......some don‘t. The American Film
Institute (AFI)
is dedicated to the preservation of films.
Film and Video deterioration has been stopped in its
tracks thanks to today's technology. Get your precious
archives on DVD.
